Unifai
Native macOS app that shows where your AI money stands.
Live · 2026 · Personal project
What it is
A native macOS app for the money side of AI work. Wallets read live balances from OpenRouter, DeepSeek, Kimi, and Vercel AI Gateway, Codex usage limits and credits from a ChatGPT plan, API spend from OpenAI and Anthropic, and Azure and Neon cloud costs; any other provider can be a manual account. A payments ledger keeps each charge in its own currency, subscriptions are tracked apart from money paid, and a timeline logs usage resets, limits, cost spikes, outages, and releases, including early resets such as OpenAI resetting Codex limits for everyone. Desktop widgets and a menu bar companion show spend and which wallet has room right now, and a read-only MCP server exposes balances, spend, renewals, and headroom to coding agents. Records stay on the Mac, with no account, server, or sync. Signed, notarized, and shipped through a Homebrew cask.
Why I built it this way
My AI spending was spread across provider dashboards, subscription accounts, and cloud bills, with no single place showing what I had paid, what credit was left, and what would renew next. Unifai keeps those as separate measures on purpose: buying $100 of credit and using $30 is $100 paid and $70 remaining, never $130 spent. Estimates stay marked until a receipt confirms them, and agents get read-only access, so a coding session can check its headroom before heavy work.
